Cookies & your privacy choices

Clear information, whenever you need it.

Last updated: 12 October 2026

You can read DragSale without accepting optional tracking. Use to review your choices, reject optional services, or change a previous choice. Our privacy policy explains broader information handling; contact us with a privacy question.

What we use

Cookies are small pieces of browser data. Local storage, tracking pixels and embedded widgets can also store information or share details about a visit. Optional services are off until you choose to allow their category. Scrolling, following a link or closing the settings panel does not count as consent.

DragSale storage and services
ItemPurpose & providerWhen used / retention
ds_consentDragSale remembers category choices, the notice version and the time chosen. No random visitor identifier is added.Essential choice storage; up to 180 days, with a new choice required after a material notice change.

_ga, _ga_NTQD0VWFVJGoogle Analytics measures visits and interactions, using a browser identifier and visit/device information.Analytics choice required. Configured cookie lifetime up to 180 days, which can renew during allowed visits. Browser restrictions can shorten it.

Amazon product widgets and pixelsAmazon-hosted widgets appear in some older guides and may share visit information or use Amazon-domain cookies.Partner product widgets choice required. Cookie names and duration can vary by widget and browser; see Amazon’s privacy notice. We do not invent fixed durations for unverified provider cookies.
WordPress sign-in / security / form featuresFeatures you request may need session data, authentication cookies or abuse-prevention data. Administrator cookies are not placed on ordinary anonymous readers. When the corresponding feature is used. Security and authentication data are not enabled as advertising or analytics through this panel.

Requested form security: Google reCAPTCHA

Google reCAPTCHA v3 helps protect our contact form from automated abuse. On the contact page, it loads only when you start using the form, not simply when you view the page. The existing integration may also run on sign-in and comment forms when those features are available; public comments remain closed. Google may process your IP address, browser/device signals and interactions and set the _GRECAPTCHA security cookie. Its lifetime and other provider-controlled storage can depend on Google and your browser; we have not measured a fixed expiry. Read Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. This requested security feature is separate from optional analytics and partner widgets. If you do not want to use it, the contact page also displays an email alternative. A first-party rate-limit counter uses a salted address hash and expires after ten minutes.

Optional analytics and product widgets

The two optional categories can be chosen separately. Analytics allows Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats. Partner product widgets allows Amazon-hosted widgets and tracking pixels. Ordinary links to a retailer remain links even when widgets are off: clicking a retailer link takes you to that retailer, where its own privacy policy applies. Affiliate links may identify DragSale as the referring publisher.

Google AdSense is withheld by this implementation, including after accepting optional categories. Display advertising will need a separate reviewed setup, including Google’s certified consent-platform requirements where applicable; these settings are not a substitute for that certification.

We host the theme fonts and a generic comment avatar on DragSale rather than contacting Google Fonts or Gravatar for each visit. Essential website hosting still receives information needed to deliver a requested page, including an IP address; rejecting optional tracking does not make a visit invisible to the hosting provider.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

Open the permanent Cookie settings button and choose Reject optional, or turn a category off and save. When you withdraw permission from a loaded service, the page reloads to stop its scripts. We remove known accessible first-party tracking cookies for the rejected category. We cannot erase information already received by a provider or delete cookies owned by another domain; clear those through your browser if you wish.

We remember your choice in this browser for up to 180 days. Clearing cookies, using another browser/device, or a material notice change may show the banner again. If your browser prevents us from saving the choice, optional tracking stays off. If JavaScript is disabled, optional scripts do not activate.

Browser privacy controls

When the browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, this implementation keeps both optional categories off while the signal is active. A signal withdraws an earlier optional grant where we can save the change; turning it off does not silently restore that grant. It does not treat a signal as permission to start tracking. Choices apply to this browser, not every device you use.

YOU’RE IN CONTROL

Essential Always on

Remembers these choices and supports security and features you request. This cannot be switched off here.

Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats help us understand page visits. They send visit and device information to Google or Automattic. Off means their tracking scripts do not load.

Some older guides include Amazon product widgets and tracking pixels. These can share your visit information with Amazon. Ordinary product links still work when this is off.

Google AdSense is not enabled by these choices. Your selection is stored on this browser for up to 180 days; a material change requires a new choice.
